Menlo Park is a city within California’s San Francisco Bay Area, sharing borders with San Francisco, Atherton, Palo Alto, and Redwood City. With a population of approximately 36,000, Menlo Park offers a mostly warm climate with sunny summers and rainy winters. Residents of  Menlo Park are well educated and come from all over the world. They tend to be engaged with the community, and local events such as farmer’s markets and festivals are enthusiastically attended. A prominent feature of Menlo Park is academia: the nearby Stanford University, excellent public schools, and educational museums provide opportunities for academic, athletic, and cultural events for visitors and residents alike to enjoy.

Downtown Menlo Park features tree-lined streets, pedestrian walkways, and upscale shops and restaurants. A trip downtown might bring you to the original Facebook Headquarters on the peninsula; to independent bookstore Kepler’s books, which closed down in 2005 but was revived by spirited demonstrations by local community members; to The Dutch Goose for arcade games and burgers; or to the regularly rotating art galleries in the Allied Arts Guild and Pace Art and Technology. If walking isn’t your thing, easy access to electric bikes means that visitors can take advantage of grab-and-go food options and explore the amenities that Menlo Park has to offer.

The technological hub of Silicon Valley provides job opportunities for locals. The city hosts major employers such as Facebook, Biosciences, SRI International, and more. With a booming economy and a commitment to its residents, Menlo Park is a California city not to be missed.
